Maranda Alexandra Barrett (nee Castwell) is a character on the series, Harpers Falls. She is played by actress Felice Schachter, who is best known for her role of Nancy Olson on the first season of the long-running comedy, The Facts of Life.
The Bane of Jennifer's existence![]
Like her stepsister, Charlene Barrett, Maranda Castwell Barrett had to deal with the evil spectre of her younger stepsister, Jennifer Barrett.
Born in Orlando, Florida, Maranda was the daughter of Randall and Marta Castwell, and she had a brother named Shawn. They grew up in the wealthy suburb of Isleworth. Like her, Shawn was more partial to their mother, Marta. Jennifer schemed to marry their father, so she could snatch their fortune.
She eventually succeeded in marrying Randall, and alienated Shawn and Maranda in the process. However, after he died, the will he made at first, leaving everything to Marta, Maranda and Shawn was upheld, which nullified the will which would have left everything to Jennifer, to her fury
Later, Jennifer's father, John, would marry Marta. This would anger Jennifer, and she never spoke to their family again. Maranda liked John, and she and Shawn became close as siblings once again. She would find she has more in common with Charlene than anyone else, despite their being stepsisters.
When Jennifer viciously abused her nephew, Aidan, she and Charlene went to Boston to put a stop to that. They moved there for good to make sure Jennifer would leave the Harpers alone, as well as Aidan, Aaron and Rusty.
In their time, they meet and become close to the Harpers.
