Jason Allan Morrison (sometimes called Jay, or Jay Jay by his closest friends) is a character on the
Matt Czuchry as Jay Morrison
series, Harpers Falls. He is played on a recurring basis, by Matt Czuchry, best known for his role of another attorney, ambitious Cary Agos, on the series, The Good Wife.
Good natured, friendly and warm-hearted, but exacting, firm and unyielding in his pursuit of justice for his clients, Jay Morrison is a prime example of idealism, unwavering ferocity in getting justice, and tempering it with mercy for his poor and needy clients.
While a good lawyer, and compassionate to his clients, Jay is no pushover, however. He is tough when his clients do not take his advice, and he can be quite confrontational when he is in the courtroom. However, his friendly nature comes through outside of the courts when he and his friends are always in view.
Jay (or Jay Jay to his best friends) lives on St. Boltoph Street in the Back Bay area, and he is close enough to the Beacon Hill area so he can visit his old friends, Barry Harper and his brother, Dylan Harper. Jay has come into the case, stepping out of his defense attorney job, which Dylan is fighting his aunt, Erica over the Harper fortune, joining Dylan's attorneys, Derick Steensland and Anngelique Minzell in their efforts to stop Erica from harassing the Harpers.
Jay has dated from time to time, but no woman wants to be with him, as a result of his constant long hours and his dedication to his job as a defense attorney. He sometimes dates Meg Harper, Dylan's cousin, and finds her outspoken and hilarious asides to be refreshing. He has met Dylan's twins, and he thinks they are adorable, and they love their "Uncle Jay Jay".
Though not connected by blood to the Harpers, Jay is one of a number of people who are considered to be family, although he is not blood family. He is surprised though when he finds his aunt Adrienne Harper, who had been once married to his dad's brother, Wade, is still alive and living in Boston. He is all right with her marriage to a woman, Veronica Harper and he is close to both his aunts.
