Amanda Celia Crofton is a character on the series, Harpers Falls. She is played by Australian actress Liz Alexander, best known for her role of overly-conservative Christine Jones on the long-running Australian soap opera, Home and away.
"I kept up with some of my friends from Home and Away after I left the show," Liz said, "and when a chance to join HF came along, I jumped on it. Albert enjoyed my turn as Christine on H&A, and loved the confrontation at the school between me and Morag (Cornelia Frances). He talked with Cornelia and they thought that I would be good as Amanda. Amanda is a lot more level-headed and reasonable, as well as more liberal than Christine could ever be!"
Melbourne from Boston[]
Amanda comes to Boston from Melbourne, Australia. She worked hard for public relations for the Australian State of Victoria (of which Melbourne is the capital), and when the Commonwealth of Massachusetts was looking for someone who could do well at public relations, Amanda was thought of immediately.
After working to get her immigration papers and visas set up properly, Amanda came into the US.
During her flight, she met up with a woman named Stephanie Senftner, herself an Australian ex-pat (she had lived in Mount Gambier, South Australia, but spent her growing up years in Adelaide), and the two became firm friends. Stephanie, herself was on her way to Boston.
The two became involved in the thick of Bostonian drama from the get go, as they had to contend with the crafty and evil Jennifer Barrett. However, they became close friends and allies with the Harper family, the top family in the Louisburg Square area.
